Artist Omaima Alseesi with some of her works at the opening of the "Daughters of Hathor" International Exhibition at Nūn Art Gallery in January 2022

Omaima Alseesi is an Egyptian fine art painter and contemporary artist with a passion for Egyptian culture, traditions and ancient heritage. Through her paintings, she presents Egyptian life throughout the common and rural areas as well as Upper Egypt where Egypt's environment of vibrant colours is strongly reflected in the themes of her artwork.

Omaima was born in Kuwait in 1959. She received her BA in English and German languages from Al-Alsun Faculty, Ain Shams University, Cairo. She pursued a long career in English/Arabic translation at international organisations in Kuwait and Egypt, nevertheless, the brush and colours never left her hands.

Omaima is a self-taught artist using different styles of both realism and impressionism
schools. Her artwork is characterised by intimate coexistence between treating the
subject and dealing with the surface of the canvas with a variety of colour relationships
and rich touches.

Omaima has had solo exhibitions in her native Cairo and London, UK. She has also
participated in various group art exhibitions locally and globally across Europe and the
Middle East.
