Ehab Lotfi

Contemporary Egyptian artist Ehab Lotfy in his studio

Well-known artist Ehab Lotfi was born in Egypt in 1967. He lives in Cairo, where he graduated from Helwan University's Faculty of Fine Arts in 1990. Since 1993, he participated in more than 160 group exhibitions in Egypt and abroad (Germany, France, Italy) - most recently in Rome in July 2019. Since 1998, he had 16 solo exhibitions.

For a couple of years, Ehab focuses on southern Egypt and Nubia painting people in traditional clothes, landscapes and waterscapes, flowers and still lifes. He works with different media: oil, acrylic and watercolours as well as charcoals, gouache and soft pastel colours.

Ehab's style is impressionistic, abstract and realistic. Abstract lines are combined with the vivid colours of Upper Egypt or show their very own power in black and white drawings.
